In 1949, at age 10, Tom Lovgren’s parents became worried about a tremor in his hand which didn’t allow him to carry a full cup of coffee to his grandmother. While a senior in college, Tom’s parents had him to go various doctors to see wheat was causing the tremor. On October 15th, 1969 Tom was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
In 1993, after joining the Cornhusker Boxing Club and coaching baseball for 15 years, Tom lost his ability to walk. On July 27th, 2012, Tom took 167 steps on MSForward’s NuStep and is an inspiration to so many. As of May 28, 2015, Tom has now accomplished 1200 steps!
